Startup Support for Orphan Businesses

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donor,

Thank you for your steady support and care for vulnerable children. Your kindness continues to inspire us, and today we bring you an update on our project to help 50 orphans start their own small grinding machine businesses.

At this point, the funds raised are still not enough for us to begin purchasing machines or startup supplies. Each setup requires an engine, tools, and fuel, and we want to ensure every child receives a complete and functional package before starting. Because of the limited funding so far, we have not yet launched the business kits.

However, we are using this time to prepare. We are speaking with local vendors to secure fair pricing for machines and parts. We are also identifying safe locations where the orphans can place their grinding setups—areas with regular foot traffic and strong demand for grain and food grinding. In addition, we are outlining simple training steps, covering how to use the machine safely, how to manage daily earnings, and how to keep the equipment in good condition.

The need remains very clear. Many orphans have no stable source of income and survive by begging or small street jobs. Without support, they cannot afford school fees, food, or medical care. A single grinding machine can change this completely. It gives a child a way to earn daily income, regain stability, and plan for school again.

We remain committed to launching the first set of businesses once funding increases. Every donation brings us closer to giving these children the tools and confidence they need to stand on their own.

Thank you for believing in their future. We will keep you informed as the project moves forward.

With gratitude,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic K.
