Mariana and Oscar are two determined and caring parents. From an early age, they noticed that their son L., who is now two years old, was having some difficulties pronouncing words. Concerned about his development, they decided to seek advice and speak with his teachers at the nursery.
Discovering the Importance of Support
Stella Mission made a volunteer speech therapist available to assess L.'s needs. Through observation, listening, and building a relationship with him, she realized that he could benefit from some additional stimulation and guidance.
She explained to Mariana and Oscar that simple daily activities could make a big difference: spending more time playing with him, reading stories together, watching cartoons in Italian, and speaking to him in Italian during everyday moments.
The Role of Parents
Mariana and Oscar welcomed these suggestions with trust and commitment. They became actively involved in the parent-child play workshops organized by the school, creating new opportunities to support L.'s growth and strengthen their bond with him.
They also decided to enroll him in the full-time program, including the after-school activities made possible thanks to the Foundation's support. This allowed them to dedicate more time and attention to his development in a safe and stimulating environment.
Small Steps Towards the Future
The journey has only just begun, but the first steps have already been taken. Thanks to the collaboration between the family, the school, and the volunteer speech therapist made available by Stella Mission, L. is receiving the encouragement and care he needs to develop his language skills.
The seeds planted today will continue to grow in the months ahead.
