The STEM Girls Computer&Robotics lab, its STEM materials such as computers, microcomputers, robotics materials, lego and snap circuit discovery kits promote an atmosphere that inspires creativity and scientific thinking in girls from a young age. We will motivate and prepare at least 300 girls in grades 7-12, each year, to complete one year STEM training with final projects. Currently, we have a STEM lab rented with very limited access to STEM materials.
Lack of women in STEM fields is a global issue. Promoting STEM education for girls from an early age is the solution to address the issue. Our project is an initiative in Mongolia. Currently, we are helping 180 girls from 45 high schools to do projects in STEM&computer coding and robotics. Our wish aims to develop the girls friendly STEM&Computer Robotics center by having excellent mentors in the field.
The funds I raise will help to reach Mongolian girls to run their creations in after school STEM&Computer&Robotics lab. My wish is to provide the free lab for at least 1 year with 300 girls between the ages of 10 to 16 in Mongolia. These classes use innovative hands-on projects to help girls understand STEM concepts, a robotics development and write code while also motivating them to pursue STEM subjects by shedding gender stereotypes, providing exposures and introducing role models.
Through funding impact by this project, we plan STEM girls Computer$Robotics lab, free for girls, always, and develop a long-term cooperation program among university faculties, IT professionals of local companies to mentor the girls. The project will help to strengthen the interest of girls getting STEM&Computer science degree. We hope this will facilitate entry of girls into the technology world as creators & makers and even decision-makers around technology for Mongolian future.
