With the summer break upon us, we are excited to reflect on the first half of 2024, which has been filled with incredible experiences and achievements. Here is a summary of our journey over the past seven months:

Participation and Engagement

This year, we welcomed 307 new kids to our programs, bringing our total number of participants since inception to an impressive 1,805. It's heartwarming to see so many young people benefiting from our initiatives, learning new skills, and forming lasting friendships.

Highlights and Achievements

  1. Football Course in Rotterdam

    • We launched a new football program specifically for girls in Rotterdam. Fifteen enthusiastic young girls joined this program, where they not only honed their football skills but also stepped out of their comfort zones, made new friends, and embraced the joy of learning and growth.
  2. Coaching for Neurodivergent Kids

    • Our coaching team received specialized training to better support neurodivergent children. This initiative aims to create a more inclusive environment where every child feels understood and empowered.
  3. Introducing New Sports

    • We expanded our sports offerings by introducing basketball in Amsterdam Nieuw-West and skateboarding in Rotterdam. These new activities have been met with great enthusiasm, providing our participants with more ways to stay active and explore their interests.
  4. Youth Advisory Board

    • We organized our first-ever Youth Advisory Board, giving our participants a platform to voice their opinions and contribute to the future direction of Project Fearless. The feedback we received was invaluable and will help shape our programs going forward.
  5. Made To Skate Film

    • We created the "Made To Skate" film this year, showcasing our skateboarding team. Girls, and especially Muslim girls, often lack role models in skateboarding. Our team decided to step up and become their own role models, inspiring others to pursue their passion for skateboarding. You can watch the film here.

Testimonials

"I’m so grateful that we found Project Fearless when we moved here. I know I can say my daughter had a great childhood because of your programs. I was so worried when we moved that it would be hard for her to make friends and find things she enjoys. But I see how happy she is. I’m so grateful. These years with you all have been so special for us."
— Parent of a participant

"Norah and Dua totally bonded! Dua always says she wants to coach, and today I was teaching Norah, and Dua came by. She asked if she could coach Norah, and Norah totally loved it! She was smiling the whole time, learned a lot of new things thanks to Dua. It was so cute. Dua really loved coaching her and was so happy about it. It all worked out beautifully, with Dua looking to me every time they achieved something together."

Looking Ahead

As we look forward to the second half of the year, we are excited to build on our successes and continue making a positive impact on the lives of our participants. We remain committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Thank you to all our donors, volunteers, and supporters for making this journey possible. Together, we are creating unforgettable memories and empowering the next generation.
