We support vulnerable families in South Kivu, eastern DR Congo, by installing chlorination sites to provide clean water and stop the spread of cholera. With displaced people living in unsanitary conditions, this emergency response will reduce infection rates and save lives.
South Kivu in DR Congo is battling a deadly cholera outbreak. Thousands of displaced people live in overcrowded, unsanitary conditions, with no access to clean water. The Bukavu-Uvira road is cut off, blocking medical supplies. Hospitals are overwhelmed, and children lie on floors battling high fever and acute diarrhea. Without immediate clean water access, more lives especially children will be lost.
Our team will install water chlorination points in affected communities, providing safe drinking water and drastically reducing cholera transmission. We also offer community awareness sessions on hygiene and cholera prevention. By targeting high-risk zones, we can quickly curb the spread and protect vulnerable families.
Access to clean water means long-term disease prevention and stronger community resilience. This project will not only stop the current cholera outbreak but also empower communities with sustainable water solutions. Families will be healthier, and children can return to school, instead of hospital beds. It's a step toward ending waterborne disease cycles in DR Congo.
