Dear Friends and Supporters,
We are grateful for the concern and interest many people have shown in this project. So far, we have not received any donations, and because of that, the project has not yet started. Still, our commitment remains firm. The situation for women and girls in Northern Nigeria continues to be deeply troubling, and this project is needed now more than ever.
In many parts of the region, women face domestic violence, early marriage, and different forms of abuse. Reports show that over 50,000 cases of violence are recorded every year, but the real number is likely much higher. Many victims remain silent because they fear stigma, rejection, or further harm. Some don’t know their rights, while others live in communities where harmful practices are accepted as normal.
Our plan is to address these issues through education, awareness, and community engagement. The project will organize radio discussions, local campaigns, and community meetings to teach families about the effects of violence and early marriage. We will train volunteers to visit households, share educational materials in local languages, and link victims to legal or medical help when possible. Religious and traditional leaders will also be involved to guide open discussions about respect and safety for women.
To everyone reading this, we invite you to stand with us. Your donation, no matter the size, can help give a voice to women who are suffering in silence and bring safety, respect, and hope to communities that have waited too long for change.
Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
