So far, we have provided 116 individual therapies to 25 women: Topics such as crisis containment, emotion recognition, strategies for dealing with grief and loss, critical thinking, and guidelines for parenting and educating children at home have been addressed in these individual therapies. In the case of 8 women, incidents of physical, verbal, sexual, psychological and economic violence have been identified, therefore, specific advice has been given in support networks near them, in strengthening self-care strategies and in preventive actions to minimize risk factors, among other measures.
To date, we have conducted 14 online group sessions with 21 women: In the group sessions, skills in the use of technological platforms have been strengthened, and parenting strategies and positive ways to establish study routines at home, given the contingency of Covid-19 have been discussed. In addition, the women share experiences, ideas, and strategies among themselves, which helps them have emotional support and reduces stress and anxiety. 8 women from the project have also received food and toiletries and sanitary kits.
Thanks to the support received through GlobalGiving, these Colombian women can continue to benefit from these services that are of enormous help for their emotional well-being and that of their families.
With gratitude,
