Dear Patron Namaste!
A Warm Greeting from RSKS India.......
Child marriage remains a pervasive issue in many rural areas, including those in Rajasthan. Despite legal prohibitions, deep-rooted traditions and socio-economic challenges persist, leading to child marriages. These practices have detrimental effects on the physical, emotional, and educational well-being of young individuals, particularly girls. In these marginalized communities, awareness about the consequences of child marriage is often lacking. Limited access to education and information exacerbates the problem, perpetuating cycles of early marriages and its associated negative impacts. It is crucial to address this issue at its roots and empower the younger generation with knowledge and agency to combat this harmful practice.
In response to this pressing issue, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India) initiated a comprehensive Child Marriage Prevention and Eradication Campaign. The campaign targeted 30 rural villages and engaged with over 1500 children from local schools. The drawing competition organized by RSKS team members. This creative approach allowed children to express their thoughts and insights on ending child marriage through art. With enthusiastic participation, each school witnessed the talent and dedication of 50 young artists who vividly portrayed their visions of a future free from child marriage. To recognize and encourage these young artists, RSKS awarded the winners at the conclusion of the program. This not only provided them with a sense of accomplishment but also reinforced the importance of their contribution in the fight against child marriage.
The Child Marriage Prevention and Eradication Campaign yielded significant positive outcomes. Firstly, it raised awareness among the participating children about the harmful effects of child marriage, equipping them with knowledge to advocate against it. Additionally, the drawing competition provided a platform for creative expression, enabling children to communicate their ideas effectively. Furthermore, the program fostered a sense of unity and solidarity among the children, as they collectively worked towards a common goal of eradicating child marriage. The recognition and awards provided by RSKS served as a powerful motivator, instilling a sense of pride and responsibility within the young participants.
