In many parts of the world, including Rajasthan, India, social issues such as child marriage, gender-based violence, violence against women, and the prevalent practice of dowry continue to persist. These problems not only violate basic human rights but also hinder the socio-economic development of communities. The lack of awareness and education exacerbates these issues, making it crucial to find innovative ways to address them. Small Steps could be taken as need for awareness program to reach both national and international audiences is a critical step towards creating a positive impact.
Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan organized the International Pushkar Fair Celebration Program to aware the national as well as international visitors. The RSKS team utilized various engaging methods, including Camel Cart Awareness, Signature Campaigns, My Selfie Campaigns, and Puppet shows, to communicate key messages on ending child marriage, stopping gender-based violence, eliminating violence against women, and eradicating the dowry system. This strategy was aimed to capture the attention of diverse audiences and facilitate a better understanding of these pressing issues. Additionally, feedback was also taken from visitors, allowing direct interaction with the participants. This feedback was invaluable in refining and improving the program for future iterations.
The International Pushkar Fair Celebration Program organized by RSKS India proved to be a resounding success, reaching over 1000 individuals directly and an estimated 12,000 individuals indirectly. The engagement of both national and international visitors showed the program's effectiveness in transcending geographical and cultural boundaries. The positive feedback received from participants highlighted the program's success in raising awareness about crucial issues. By leveraging innovative communication methods, RSKS India effectively disseminated information on ending child marriage, stopping gender-based violence, ending violence against women, and eliminating dowry practices. The collective efforts of the team and the active involvement of the participants led to a heightened sense of community awareness and a commitment to positive social change.
