An IMPACT !!****
In order to prevent violence against women, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan is working successfully. The organization makes the community aware of the issue through workshops, signature campaign, awareness rally, poster competition, awareness programs. The organization has noticed and observed the problem of violence against women in the society and made its attempts to solve the problem. In the series, RSKS provides proper counselling in such matters and solved the problems by mutual discussions. We share some of those incidents in the report.
Men are considered superior to women in the society in the male dominated society and all the decisions are made by men and women are bound to do what is decided by men without any objection. The tradition has been practised in the society since ancient times, but now in the era of changes, somewhere a small sparkle of women empowerment has been brought to the society. Now, women whether she is a rural or urban one, is aware of her rights. We have observed such things in a program organized by RSKS.
Mangla (Name Changed) , the ward panch, resides in a distant village makreda in Pisangan brought all women in the village together on a platform and get a special ordinance passed for girls in Gram Panchayat. RSKS provides the required guidance to women and they raised their voice all together and participated in the gram sabha. In the gram sabha, women get the ordinance passed in written according to which, if a girl takes birth in a house of village, the gram panchayat will honour the family along with public representative and village officials. It is mandatory to eradicate practising discrimination between girl and boy and to provide similar health facilities and nurturing to both. In addition to this, 11 fruitful and shaddy trees to be planted in the village after the birth of a girl in the village.
The Sarpanch of the village and public representative appreciated the amazing initiative taken by RSKS and addressed that the initiative will definitely bring changes in the society and people will change their approach. The program will help to improve the condition of women in the society and reducing gender inequality. All the members of Gram Panchayat thank RSKS and the donors and convey best wishes.
