My Life ~ My Rights !!

Dear Friend Namaste

Greetings from RSKS India!!

It is often seen that in the rural areas, women and girls have to face several restrictions. The society still has so many evils that women and girls have to face very often. Child marriage, gender inequality, dowry, violence against women, female foeticide are major social evils.

In order to make rural girls and women aware of the social evils, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan organized Poster Making Competition in the girls schools of 17 distinct villages and made them aware of child marriage, gender inequality, female foetice, violence against women, save girl, educate girl and many other social evils through a public rally.

The girl participants made beautiful posters and delivered a concrete message to the society through the rally. The girls made best posters were awarded. The award brought some sort of motivation not only to the winners but also to all the participants. The more than 1200 girls came to know about the social evils through the poster making competition and they also got aware of the ways to prevent such evils in the society. The poster making competition also brought a postive approach to the views of the girls and now they very well know that gender inequality, child marriage and violence against them are some major social evils.

One of our activists had conversation with one of the beneficiaries Maya who expressed her views. The Maya didn’t know about child marriage, female foeticide and other social evils before participating the poster making competition where she came to know about them. She also committed that she will raise her voice against the social evils if she finds them in the village and will contribute to prevent the social evils.
