Poor Sanitation Still Driving Disease Spread

By Joy Ojochogwu Etubi | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank the donors who have supported the Street Clean-Up Against Neglected Tropical Disease project. Your support shows concern for communities affected by poor sanitation and disease. However, the donations received so far are still not enough to begin the planned clean-up and awareness activities.

In many urban slums, open waste and stagnant water remain common. These conditions allow diseases to spread easily, especially among children and low-income families. Without proper sanitation, many people continue to face health risks that affect their daily lives.

Limited awareness about hygiene practices also adds to the problem. Many residents are not fully informed about how simple actions like proper waste disposal can reduce disease risks.

This project is designed to mobilize volunteers to clean streets, remove waste, and raise awareness on hygiene and disease prevention. The goal is to reduce breeding grounds for disease and help communities adopt cleaner habits.

With proper support, these clean-up efforts can improve living conditions, reduce illness, and promote safer environments for families.

We are grateful for the support already received and remain hopeful that additional contributions will make it possible to begin this important work.

Sincerely,

Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
Project Leader
