Providing appropriate health care for adolescents and young people requires understanding specific aspects of their development and addressing the issues they face which fluctuate throughout the period of their development. SIPACIO intends to introduce the strategy to the health and social services providers to support adolescents and youth in an appropriate, friendly manner while accessing the comprehensive quality integrated SRHR/HIV/SGBV services in Chiradzulo, Malawi.
Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights is another major area affecting all adolescents and youth regardless of their HIV status. While sexual awareness is high among adolescents, 12% of the 10-14 years and 56% of the 15-19 years adolescents are having sexual relationships with a younger or older partner according to the Malawi Youth Friendly Health Services (YFHS) report Among adolescent girls aged 13-17 years, 1 in 5 girls (22.8%) experience sexual abuse with 77.3% having multiple incidences.
