Dear friends,
We have been carrying out an implementation research project that includes an accountability component. Based on preliminary findings and field observations, we have conducted several activities using lobbying and advocacy strategies. This report outlines the activities conducted from May 2024 to August 2024.
Completed Activities
- Installed a hand pump in Namuna Basti to ensure consistent access to water.
- Held meetings with relevant stakeholders to facilitate access to basic services in selected informal settlements.
- Reconstructed and maintained a school building in Mathillo Ghostey settlement in collaboration with the ward office of the respective area.
- Presented research findings and conducted meetings with local representatives.
Key Developments
- Positive Community Response: Our ongoing work to provide essential services in informal settlements and organize regular awareness workshops has resulted in a favorable shift in community attitudes.
- Increased Service Utilization: The awareness workshops conducted in informal settlements have led to a higher usage of available services, particularly government health posts. Many residents, who were previously unaware of free government services, had been seeking care from private clinics.
- Inclusive Approach: The project's focus on vulnerable groups has gained strong support from various stakeholders. Authorities have expressed their willingness to collaborate more closely to address these specific challenges.
We are incredibly grateful for your continued support, which has made these impactful initiatives possible. Your encouragement have been instrumental in driving meaningful change in the communities we serve.
Thank you
PHASE Nepal Team
