Summary

Cancer kills about 78,000 Nigerians every year. Many poor patients cannot afford chemotherapy, drugs, or diagnostic tests. This project will give 20 indigent cancer patients treatment subsidies to help them continue care without interruption. Each donation will bring them closer to recovery, lessen pain, and give families renewed hope for survival.

Challenge

In Nigeria, most indigent cancer patients earn less than $2 a day. The cost of care, from diagnosis to chemotherapy, can be higher than what an average family earns in a year. Many sell their homes or borrow money but still stop treatment halfway. This often leads to relapse, severe pain, and preventable deaths among patients who could have survived with steady help.

Solution

This project will fund part of the treatment cost for poor cancer patients, covering chemotherapy, scans, and essential medicines. Patients will also receive emotional counseling and follow-up support to stay committed to care. By reducing the financial burden, we will help patients complete their treatment and regain the strength to return to their families and communities.

Long-Term Impact

The project will enable 350 indigent patients to receive regular cancer treatment, reduce delays in care, and lower cancer-related deaths. It will also raise awareness on early detection, promote community participation, and serve as a model for assisting low-income patients to access treatment without falling into financial hardship. In the long term, this will help increase cancer survival rates in Nigeria.
