Today, we want to update you on the Mwiyenga and St Joseph's Eshirumba Primary Schools, two schools in Kakamega County that embrace The Virtues Project and practice the Five Strategies. There have been remarkable, positive changes in both of the schools.
SO WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Both schools have improved significantly in the last 3 months.
We have competed favorably with other schools in the county in Music Festivals and emerged in position 3 out of 47 schools. This is something that had never happened at St. Joseph's Eshirumba. It was our first time, and people asked if this was a private or public school. The learners showcased their prowess, surprising many people. We even defeated well-known big schools.
We have also competed in ball games and nurturing talent. Our learners did exceptionally well, and we are now the champions of both Football and Netball. We had a tight competition in the Volleyball finals where the two Virtues schools, Mwiyenga and St. Joseph's Eshirumba, met. May I say that the two virtue schools cheered, singing virtuous songs that impressed the whole stadium. Eventually, Mwiyenga beat St. Joseph's Eshirumba two sets to one. Mwiyenga is now the Volleyball champion! St. Joseph's Eshirumba produced the county's top footballer, Jacktone Akoolo, a sixth-grade learner.
We attribute our successes to awakening and nurturing the practice of virtues, using the strategies of The Virtues Project. Our learners have developed their Courage, Confidence, and Creativity and are devoted and always purposeful about excelling.
We thank you for your generosity and support of our project. Our need for uniforms, food, supplies, and virtue materials continues, and we appreciate any assistance you can provide.
Stay tuned for an update on academics and more!
