On 5 February 2026, Guidance and Counseling teachers who were trained in The Virtues Project Strategies in 2025 gathered for a reflection and learning session at Bishop Stam Pastoral Centre. The meeting brought together educators who are leading Virtues Clubs in their secondary schools to share experiences, successes, and ideas for strengthening virtues-based education.

During the meeting, teachers reflected on how the Virtues Clubs have helped students actively practice values such as respect, responsibility, compassion, honesty, and cooperation. Through creative activities such as poetry, songs, drama, and discussions, students are learning to apply virtues in their daily lives at school, at home, and in their communities.

Teachers shared that when students practice virtues in meaningful ways, the impact extends beyond the classroom. Students carry these values into their families and neighborhoods, helping to influence positive behavior and stronger relationships within their communities.

Participants also discussed ways to strengthen and expand Virtues Clubs in more schools. Some of the key ideas included building networks among schools implementing the program, organizing student exchange visits, and creating friendly competitions that recognize students and teachers who actively demonstrate virtues in their schools and communities. Recognizing teachers who model the Five Strategies of The Virtues Project was also highlighted as an important way to encourage leadership and positive role modeling.

Another important discussion focused on sustainability. Since teachers are often transferred to different schools and students graduate each year, the virtues they learn continue to spread to new environments. This creates a powerful ripple effect as more schools and communities begin to adopt the practice of virtues.

Teachers also emphasized the importance of involving parents and families. When teachers and parents actively practice virtues together, children receive consistent guidance that helps them grow into responsible, compassionate, and confident individuals.

This gathering reaffirmed the strong commitment of educators to expand virtues education across Kenyan schools. With continued support, more teachers can be trained, and more schools can establish Virtues Clubs that nurture character, leadership, and positive community values.

Your support helps make it possible to train more teachers, strengthen Virtues Clubs, and empower young people across Kenya to become leaders of integrity and compassion.
