Fuel Relief Fund is still operating out of service stations in Tabloban to service local and national NGO’s and help their operations along with providing fuel to individuals and families in that area.
Yesterday, after fueling the water treatment plant in Tacloban, Fuel Relief Fund provided much needed fuel to Guiuan, Eastern Samar (about 3 hours from Tacloban). This area was hardest hit by the storm and has been unreachable by land until now. The UN asked Fuel Relief Fund to go to Guiuan to fuel the generators for water purification. The team reached the village and fueled overnight. They fueled more today and then returned to camp in Tacloban.
Starting today, the Red Cross is setting up portable water treatment plants to produce drinking water all along the coast line for all the small towns. Fuel Relief Fund is fueling the generators that will consume about 20 liters a day. FRF will provide additional drums of fuel that will provide enough fuel for each water plant for a month! Additionally, FRF will provide 10 liters of diesel for all cars and generators along the way to serve these communities and people as best as possible.
Fuel Relief Fund appreciates the support of GlobalGiving and all of the donors and contributors to this project.
