Fuel Relief Fund Providing Fuel in Leyte and Samar

Fuel Relief Fund is still operating out of service stations in Tabloban to service local and national NGO’s and help their operations along with providing fuel to typhoon survivors in towns and villages in Northern Leyte and Eastern Samar.

In the past several days, Fuel Relief fund has expanded operations and is involved in helping and reaching many citizens with aid by way of fueling many non-profit aid agencies. This is an important partnership as the fuel that is provided for the generators, refrigeration and cooking equipment, trucks, transportation vehicles, bull dozers, and other equipment helps those aid organizations provide essential services to the typhoon survivors.  Fuel Relief Fund participates in daily “cluster meetings” with these agencies.  As a result, Fuel Relief Fund has been supplying fuel for clinics, hospitals, water treatment plans, communication tower, and many aid vehicles.

Fuel Relief Fund has expanded operations to deliver fuel to more towns and villages where the fuel is given to individuals and families for use in their generators and vehicles.  Many people are using motorcycles as their main or only way of transportation.  Yesterday, Fuel Relief Fund fueled over 600 motorcycles.  Additionally, there are many villages where the citizens have no transportation available at all.  Any aid needs to be delivered and Fuel Relief
Fund is delivering to many towns up to 4 hours radius away from Tacloban.

Fuel Relief Fund appreciates the support of GlobalGiving and all of the donors and contributors to this project.

Fuel Relief Fund is a global, non-profit organization providing free fuel immediately after a major disaster.
It has responded to incidents including Hurricane Katrina, the earthquake in Haiti, Japan’s earthquake and tsunami disaster, the major earthquake in Turkey, and Hurricane Sandy.
