As a result, families are often required to travel long distances to fetch water from unsafe and muddy ponds that are also used by animals. Through local knowledge and community involvement, we aim to provide sustainable and affordable water solutions by constructing low-cost wells.
A large number of villages in rural Tanzania continue to face severe water shortages, forcing residents to walk many kilometers in search of water. In some cases, people depend on contaminated ponds shared with livestock, exposing communities to waterborne diseases and other health complications. Additionally, nearly half of the water pumps installed in Tanzania stop working because of limited spare parts and insufficient local technical support.

Community members are trained to hand-drill boreholes and build simple rope pumps that villagers can easily maintain and repair themselves.
