The project will help 100 vulnerable girls and women in Njimom in the Noun Division of Cameroon. The political crisis in North-west and South-west parts of the country causes huge displacements of women and girls who were escaping from war and joined Njimom. It will facilitate access to school for displaced and vulnerable girls, create business and vocational training opportunities to girls and women.Provide medical and psychological assistance to them and sensitize the hosting community
The socio-political crisis in North-west and South-west regions of Cameroon has led to many internally displaced persons. The Noun Division due to its neighborhood with the North-west region has hosted at least 32,155 internally displaced persons. The village Njimom has hosted 3,267. WEFN decided to focus on durable actions which will empower those victims of war, keep them from delinquency such as prostitution, robbery and also help them to have a peaceful cohabitation with the hosting community
It will improve the living conditions of displaced persons by enabling girls to continue school, women to have marketing and business skills and activities such as sewing, agriculture, hairdressing so that they can take care of them and their families.By integrating a quota of poor girls and women of the locality,it builds a sustainable social cohesion within the community. We also add medical and psychosocial support to victims as a way to overcome the trauma and continue to live in dignity
The project will help 100 girls and women to move from assisted person to autonomous one.Its approach will reduce the negative impact of internal displacement on health through medical assistance by fighting against the spreading of Sexual Transmissible Diseases and early pregnancy,on security by reducing the increase of the rate of delinquency,on economy by giving professional skills and creating jobs opportunities and on cultural identity through a fraternal dialogue in the community.
