URGENT SUPPORT for Tharparkar Farmers Needed
Dear Donors, I am pleased to share that Tharparkar facing drought since last 3 years, got light rain spell on July 24-25, 2015, that helps people to secure drinking water for them and their animals.
The First Rain Spell of the 2015 in Tharparkar Brings hope for Life, we urgently needed support for the farmers to provide seed of millet & lentils, one farmer needed 8,000 PKR or US $ 80 for millet and lentils seed package for one family. We at AHD needed seed package for 500 farmers on urgently
Hope you all take care of Tharparkar Drought hit families and this is the time to support our cause, seed package will help farmers to secure food for at least one year by cultivating their lands

Update on Tharparkar DROUGHT 2015 help needed urgently
Tharparkar is the one of desert in Sindh Province, Pastoralists and others in Pakistan’s desert of Tharparkar region in Sindh are facing a grave crisis: Their livestock are dying, their children are malnourished, and when families move to less drought-affected areas they often get a hostile reception.
Mr. Shahab Qaiser Program officer AHD visited the drought hit area during last week and come to know that widespread and large-scale support required for drought hit families of Tharparkar Sindh, the drought hit after every 3-4 years spell when low rain happen. As per media and experts sharing “This is the worst drought we have encountered since 1998,”
Some deaths were reported in Tharparkar from 1 December 2013 to 28 March 2014 of which 51 were men, 34 women and 116 children. Starvation, sickness was the main cause of these deaths.
Drinking contaminated water as supplies ran short also contributed to disease, he said, with “water often shared by animals and humans”.
We at AHD looking up to start sustainable project in Tharparkar and we need of your all cooperation to plan and start some genuine base activities to reduce drought vulnerability

Tharparkar children deaths due to drought
118 children death in 54 days Tharaprkar
Three more children died due to malnutrition in drought-hit Thar on Monday taking the death toll to 118 in 54 days. According to reports by AHD field workers from Mithi share that food crises deepen and death of new born babies or young children is continue since last 6 months, recently Govt & NGOs supported in Mithi, Nagrparkar and main cities but in rural areas families still looking support of foods and medicine.
Scarcity of water and food, inaccessibility to relief goods and the far & scattered areas with limited support are the main reasons. There is need to focus on remote areas of Tharaprkar and needs to survey house to house to stop deaths of young children. for more please share any question at info@ahdpak.org we will reply back as soon as possible
