Although fundraising for Support 150 Farmers with Organic Farming Skills is still ongoing, Empower Future Initiative has taken important early steps to prepare for implementation. Our team carried out community outreach in Mararaba and nearby rural communities, engaging unemployed youth who are already involved in small-scale farming or interested in agriculture as a livelihood pathway.
Through this mobilization, we identified and documented prospective beneficiaries who are eager to learn organic farming methods that improve yields without harming the soil or environment. Many participants shared concerns about declining soil fertility, high costs of chemical fertilizers, and limited access to modern, sustainable farming knowledge.
In parallel, we held preliminary discussions on training needs, demonstration plots, and the contents of organic farming starter kits. These activities confirm both the urgency of the project and strong community readiness.
With donor support, this project is positioned to move quickly into hands-on training, helping 150 young farmers grow healthy food, increase income, and strengthen local food security sustainably.
