March to June quarterly report on Support 320 Orphans with goats in Uganda

Summary 

We did not receive funding in the quarter but we implemented the following activities.

1. Procured and distributed Six (6) goats to Six (6) orphans to help them in improving livelihood.
2. We have so far distributed Twenty Four (24) goats to the orphans in Kagumu, Bulangira, Kabweri among other Sub Counties.
3. Visited all the 24 beneficiaries during monitoring and evaluation.

1. 20 beneficiaries were followed up during support supervision in the quarter.
2. 24 goats given to the beneficiaries were treated and given care by the trained veterinary officer.

Challenges

1. Low project cash inflow: KADO has got limited donor funding for the project and the communities where the project is located.
2. Overwhelming number of OVCs
3. High community expectations

Recommendations

KADO continues to seek for more support from development partners and other well-wishers.
Success Story
This is a success story of Godfrey aged 6 years, son of the late Mwima of Kagumu Sub-County – Kibuku district. Godfrey was identified by the project officer and seen to be needier than other orphans in the area, he was given an improved she – goat to support him as he goes to school. This is a true story of what happens to the Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Uganda, particularly in rural communities.
