BREADER GOATS DELIVERED TRIPLETS

Summary

This is quarterly activity and status report on “support 320 orphans with goat’s project in Kibuku, pallisa and Butebo districts in Uganda” for a period July to September 2019. The overall purpose of the project remains contribution to improved household income of OVC households to enable them secure Medical treatment, scholastic materials and other basic needs. KADO is grateful to all donors and the community for the support in the quarter.

Current Status

The rate of breeding is very low due to limited breeder-goats and this has hampered the project to attain the expected results in time. There are 282 OVCs that study without uniform, school meals and at times lack scholastic materials due to limited household income of the caregivers and guardians. In the quarter (July to September, 2019), KADO managed to plan and implement the following activities:-

  1. Monitored 8 beneficiaries
  2. Treated 12 goats of beneficiaries
  3. 3 Goateed produced and 2 she goats will be disseminated in the third week of October, 2019

3.0    Challenges

  1. High cost on improved breeder he- goats: The organization relies majorly on donor funds and each donor has priority areas for the funds donated.
  2. Low project cash inflow: KADO has got limited donor funding for the project and the communities where the project is located.
  3. Overwhelming number of OVCs that demand goats

Recommendations

KADO kindly requests all well-wishers to be part of us and give a helping hand for the support of the project.

This is a story of Monica a girl child who received support from the project. She completed her senior four and joined a tailoring course. she is joining her second year in January and completing in December, 2020. this is what exactly what KADO does.
