This is quarterly status report ending October 2021 on “support 320 orphans with goat’s project in Kibuku, Pallisa and Butebo Districts in Uganda”. The project contributes to improved household incomes of households with orphans and vulnerable children to enable them secure sustainable income to bale have access to Medical treatment, scholastic materials and other home basic needs. KADO acknowledges to all donors and the community for the support in the project particularly in this period of COVID 19 that has affected the incomes of all the people nationwide. Project Status: • The project is currently implemented utilizing solely through Passover of she-goats produced by goats of the beneficiaries. . We are not realizing financial support from our donors yet there is increased number of orphans that require support. Even our orphans are at home as all schools in Uganda are closed due to COVID 19 pandemic. Achievements: • Treated 24 goats for 10 orphans • Monitors 8of our beneficiaries to ascertain the project progress • 6 delivered and ready for pass over this quarter to other orphans. Challenges: • The organization relies majorly on donor funds and each donor has priority areas for the funds donated. • COVID 19 and our orphans are out of school • Due to the lock down of our country, our OVCs are greatly engaged in child labour looking for survival. . • Many orphans have returned in streets to secure survival through sale of petty items. • Our OVCs are exposed to a lot of vulnerabilities. Imagine they are missed with the community and lacks personal protective gears like face masks. Recommendations: KADO still requests all well-wishers to be part of us and give a helping hand for the support of Orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda. Schools are opening next year I January 2022 and our orphans will require a lot of support to return to school.
