Current status of Support 320 orphans with improved goats project
Kagumu Development Organization is doing a commendable work of building the capacity of OVCs and their households in improved goat’s management through training, breading and dissemination of improved goats to some OVCs and provision of advisory services. However, many Orphans and vulnerable children have not obtained support/goats and are still too much vulnerable due to limited financial support from development partners to procure and bread more goats for distribution.

Challenges
Due to limited financial resources, our challenges remain and these include;
Recommendation
The organization continues to request all donors to be part of us for the good of our children who are the future duty bearers.
Testimony from one beneficiary
This is a testimony of is from Jenifer the only daughter of late of Samuel and Joyce of Bulangira sub county in Kibuku district, Eastern Uganda. Jenifer is 8 year girl and had no support because nobody after the burial of her parents. Mr. John a sympathizer agreed to take responsibility of Jenifer. However he requested contribution from other sympathizers to provide support since he has many dependants. John reported to the project leader requesting for support of Jenifer. Jenifer was provided a she goat which the care taker will look after and sell young ones when it delivers to procure scholastic materials and other necessities. The caretaker John got happy and pledged to keep the goat project well for the good of Jenifer and also pledged to assist her in her education.
This is true story and explains the work of KADO in relation to our project of support 320 OVCs with improved goats in Uganda. We are happy that OVC caretakers have come up to explain their challenges as regard OVCs to NGOs.
