Support 80 Girls to Finish High School in China

On October 6, 2023, we organized 5 university student volunteers (all students who had been sponsored by the program and now they are in university) and 12 volunteers from the Shaoguan Zhenjiang District Volunteer Association to visit the homes of 27 students who applied for the scholarship program. Shaoguan Zhenjiang Volunteers Association volunteers are responsible for communicating with parents/guardians to check the income and expenditure of each recipient student's family. The student volunteers of Shining Star will have one-on-one communication with the applicants as experienced people, reducing their tension and giving them positive hope and energy with their own experience. The home visiting students' addresses covered 9 townships in Renhua County. Shining Star has been cooperating with the volunteer association since the beginning of the program. Many of the volunteers have participated in the student home visits for more than ten years, and have heard many touching and life-changing true stories! Our student volunteers were also very impressed. From being a recipient to now being a supporter, it is a very remarkable and moving change! Thanks to the active participation and dedication of the volunteers, we were able to collect enough information to better select the list of recipients.
