Dear Supporters,
Grace and peace to you this Easter from The Abundance Team.
Here are some updates from our side on the past few weeks:
1. On 3 March 2026 Moses, our Community Coordinator visited Gogo (Grandmother) Hilda Kampila to deliver a bundle of essential groceries. When Mosese arrived at Gogo Hilda’s grandchildren's small compound, he witnessed first hand that heavy rains and flash floods had caused Gogo's house to collapse. She now lives with her grandchildren. The groceries we brought that morning — maize, cooking oil, beans, and a few basic toiletries — were small against the loss of a home, but they brought immediate relief. Gogo’s eyes brightened when she saw the bags; the grandchildren crowded close, and for a moment the room felt less fragile.
The distribution was witnessed by the CBO Chairperson and the Acting Village Headman, who confirmed the family’s needs and the receipt of the items. Having local leaders present helps ensure transparency and strengthens community trust in our work. Their presence also allowed us to record accurate details for follow-up support and to coordinate any additional assistance the family may need.
2. We are pleased to share that Abundance received its license from NonGovernmental Organisations Regulatory Authority (NGORA) on 26 March 2026, a milestone that formalizes our operations and expands our capacity to respond quickly to emergencies like the recent floods. With this license, we can better coordinate with local authorities and scale distributions to reach more families in urgent need.
3. Youth, including teenagers from Mbando village community have approached us with a request to buy them sports kits (football, t shirts, nets etc.). If you would like to contribute, please do so this month, as we would like to gift the sports kits by end of April 2026.
Thank you for your continued support and please know that every dollar you donate goes towards our work at Mbando Village. If you wish to contribute towards this cause including making Gogo's life easier please donate at Support a "Smart Village" in Malawi - GlobalGiving
