What's new at Hands for Hope!

Greetings from Uganda!

The school's second term is coming to a close at Hands for Hope and things have been quite busy, with lots of activities, workshops and projects on the go.  Our dedicated team of teachers, social workers and support staff have continued working with our children and their families, supported by a wide range of volunteers.

Since we graduated from the Accelerator program, thanks to generous donors like yourself, we've already started to fill our intake class for next year, bringing the most vulnerable kids into the program early to get them off the street as soon as possible.

In other news...

Recently, at Uganda Hands for Hope's first Open Day, we invited all of our parents to come and learn about everything from science and personal hygiene to geography and crossword puzzles, at stalls run by the children.  Our students had a wonderful time educating their own families!

To regularly monitor our children with hearing impairments, we've continued to partner with the Ian Hutcheon Clinic for Children.  The children love the activities in their mobile clinic!

And finally, we'd love to congratulate the UHfH football and netball teams which competed at an inter-school tournament last week and played wonderfully.  Follow us on Facebook to see how far they'll go!

Moving into our third term, we hope to expand our special needs class and offer a wider array of vocational and practical skills. If you know anyone who is interested in helping us develop these projects or becoming a sponsor, please share our project or contact us. Without the help from all of our friends and supporters, our work would not be possible. We are very grateful for all of your support.

Thank you!
