Greetings from Uganda!
So much has been happening at Uganda Hands for Hope so a little update has been long overdue!
We have recently opened our incredible new classroom facilities for our special educational needs children - a bright, clean, safe and welcoming space that has completely transformed the children's learning environment. A massive thanks goes to our hardworking volunteers who made this dream a reality, providing a lasting impact for so many special children from the slums - today and in the future!
Another one of our many recent developments is the starting 'Pottery Classes' classes, yet another fantastic new skill being offered to the children under our care and protection. Thanks to generous donations from friends and supporters like you we have been able to purchase a manually operated potters wheel, the various materials needed and also to pay a qualified and highly skilled potter to come and teach a group of children each and every week.
As always we are extremely grateful to have so many volunteers and interns from both within Uganda and from various parts of the world, who's collective support is assisting us to completely transform children's lives, providing new and exciting opportunities for so many that need us.
Please check out our Facebook/ Instagram for more videos/ photos of other activities that have been taking place.
Volunteers are always welcome! If you, or anyone you know, is keen to volunteer, whether you are a student, a professional or maybe retired, please get in contact so we can see how your skills and experiences can support our work further.
It is amazing to see how Uganda Hands for Hope is continuing to grow from strength to strength, continuing to be the VOICE and ACTION of the most vulnerable children in Namuwongo slums, providing love, care, support, and education to so many children that need us.
From supporting just 8 children in 2008 to supporting over 450 children today has not been an easy journey, so a massive thanks again for not only helping vulnerable children to survive, but to thrive.
All the best,
The Uganda Hands for Hope Team
