Primary 7 students prepping for their exams
Primary 7 students prepping for their exams

Greetings from Uganda!

While things are certainly not back to normal yet and our classrooms are still not full, we were glad to hear the announcement from the Ministry of Education that there will be a staggered resumption of classes to ensure social distancing until August.  At that point, Term 1 of 2021 will begin with all classes back together at the same time.

In the meantime, our Primary 7 students were allowed to return to the classroom (in a socially distant way of course) to prepare for their PLE (Primary Leaving Examinations) which took place a couple weeks ago.  All our P7 students worked extremely hard since they returned in October to catch up and ensure they were fully ready for the exams, especially after being out of school for 6 months.

We are so proud of all of them putting in the hard work and getting to this stage.  A big thanks and congratulations to our teachers for supporting and preparing our students during such a difficult time!

Another big thank you goes to Tank Hill Park for inviting our P7 students to watch Hiccup Circus Uganda at a wonderful celebration of the end of their primary school career. We now wait with excited anticipation for their results later in the year!

In the meantime, your donations have continued to help support all of our children with home visits to ensure everyone is staying safe and healthy, supplemental food deliveries for their families and individualized, curriculum-specific school work every week.  Thank you all for keeping us in your thoughts when we know everyone is struggling worldwide.

All the best to you from Uganda Hands for Hope!
