Greetings from Uganda!
We wanted to send a huge thank you to everyone who donated on Giving Tuesday!
When we added in the matching funds awarded to us by GlobalGiving, we raised $7500 towards annual sponsorships of children, $4700 towards a mini bus to help us transport our students and $8200 towards our new community center! We are so grateful to you, our generous donors, for your support. We will certainly keep you posted as we continue to plan and raise the money needed for the community center.
In other news, we recently hosted students from the Acacia International School to give them a chance to really engage in our community. Some of these students had never encountered such extreme poverty before and this was a really powerful, eye-opening experience for them!
And, in partnership with Brass for Africa, are proud to have launched the Inclusion in Focus Gala that has been adopted as an annual initiative celebrating the power of music in promoting the inclusion of people living with disabilities in our local communities.
