You Honored H.O.P.E. on Juneteenth 2021!

By Kenita Smith | President/CEO & Founder

Juneteenth
Juneteenth

Last month President Biden signed legislation making Juneteenth a federal holiday. While many people have long celebrated this day, the recognition brought by this legislation spurred many of you to donate to H.O.P.E., Inc. in honor of it. We have been surprised, amazed, and humbled by your generosity.

The efforts by some of you to organize your own Juneteenth fundraisers to support H.O.P.E. have really touched our hearts. We were particularly gobsmacked by the Juneteenth fundraisers organized by PK Global, an experience-engineering firm, and Jaime Camil, a leading actor, producer, and director. PK Global is matching employee donations made to H.O.P.E. through the end of July and Jaime Camil has donated to, and shared our project, with his millions of loyal fans.

We want to thank them for actively observing Juneteenth by making an impact in our community, and for appreciating the work we do together to improve black lives. We are excited to have them join the numerous other donors who have already contributed to this project. In supporting H.O.P.E., you've helped our participants achieve an incredible 81% college graduation rate versus the national four-year graduation rate of just 33%. You've helped us provide financial literacy programs resulting in 80% of H.O.P.E. graduates having a savings account with an average balance of over $10,000. And, the commitment from our monthly donors has helped ensure that we can accept even more single parents into our program in 2022. You have certainly honored H.O.P.E. this past Juneteenth in the most amazing ways!

Thanks again to everyone who made H.O.P.E., Inc. a new part of their Juneteenth celebration tradition!

Best wishes,

Kenita Smith
