For many teenagers in Karu LGA, safe play and public recognition are rare. This project will bring together 500 underserved teenagers for a vibrant Sports & Wellness Day filled with games, teamwork, nutritious meals, and celebration. For many, it will be their first organized sports experience, building confidence that lasts far beyond the field.
Teenagers in low-income Karu communities lack access to safe recreation, organized sports, and positive youth engagement. Poverty, overcrowding, and limited nutrition reduce opportunities for physical activity and self-expression. Without safe play and encouragement, many teens struggle with low confidence, stress, and limited pathways for healthy development.
Empower Future Initiative will host a safe, inclusive Sports Day for 500 teenagers, providing organized games, sports equipment, coaching support, and nutritious meals. Every participant will be recognized with certificates and medals, ensuring dignity, motivation, and a strong sense of belonging throughout the event.
Beyond one day, this project builds confidence, teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Teens who experience safe play and recognition are more likely to stay engaged in school, adopt healthy habits, and believe in their potential. The program lays the foundation for stronger youth leadership and healthier communities in Karu LGA.
