Support Children and Families in Ukraine

UNICEF’s 2024–2025 winter response has come to a close. Thanks to strong support from partners like you, the response plan reached $99.8 million of the $100 million appeal, enabling critical assistance for 2.38 million people, including 405,000 children. Key interventions included:

• Cash-for-winterization for families in frontline areas and vulnerable children receiving cash plus care and case management
• Solid fuel distribution
• Repair of district heating systems
• Sustainable safe water and sanitation
• Energy generation equipment supporting access to basic services
• Decentralized heating at health facilities
• Cash grants for school energy and heating

Key results included:

• 47,178 frontline households received cash for winter assistance
• 36,965 children under case management received winter assistance, supporting 13,752 families
• 5,626 families received solid fuel
• 2,255,532 people benefited from repaired district heating systems
• 74,000 people, including 12,580 children, received sustainable safe water and sanitation
• 490,628 children in 800 schools benefited from cash grants for school energy and heating
