ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE PERIOD UNDER REVIEW:

2.1 Field Monitoring and Learning sessions in Schools.

During the month under review. Learning Squared project team organized four field monitoring, learning, and impact visits within the project area. Field monitoring visits were conducted in three counties and four schools. Kingdom Builder School, Rebecca J. Wilson School, Jenneh Public school, and ROSODAN System school in Margibi, Bomi, and Montserrado counties, respectively. These engagement sessions brought together over 25 participants, including teachers, community leaders, and students, and lasted for an hour with each school. Participants expressed their commitment to continually work with Learning Squared, as the program has been an inspiration and created opportunities for many (OVC) orphans and volunteer children who were abandoned and underserved their communities. Making a short statement, a community leader expressed optimism about the program. And noted the program has significantly improved the outcome of learning, increased student enrollment, and performance in school”.

2.2 Community and School COVID-19 Awareness

During the month under review. Our project team organized six community and school COVID-19 awareness sessions. These sessions brought together over 35 participants and indirectly reaching over 1,500 community residents in the project areas. Participants included community leaders, students, and teachers. Sensitization and awareness campaign was conducted through community town hall engagements, community awareness sessions, leaflets, and fliers were also distributed. Participants were informed about the safety procedures, and how to avoid the pandemic. Participants expressed appreciation to Learning Squared Liberia for the level of work in the community and county at large. Making a brief statement, a community leader, John. Noted the importance of the sessions and the lessons learned. He noted that together we can all fight the pandemic and returned to normal lives. The sessions are expected to continue in April in other communities as a way of strengthening community and school efforts to fight the pandemic.

2.3 Constraints:

There were few challenges that the project team experienced during the period under review. The lack of logistical support to facilitate our movement in rural communities. Field staff has to travel through public vehicles or motorbike which most time causes a delay and constraints in reaching the project site. The high demand to replicate our social impact education project in other communities is also high and we would anticipate support to continue our program.

conclusion/ Recommendations:

Thanks, and appreciation to our supporters, donors, GlobalGiving, local communities, and schools for the level of commitment shown towards the successful implementation of the project. Learning Squared Liberia is open to working with all children of Liberia, mostly the underserved children in rural Liberia. We are extending an invitation to our supporters and donors, to support our School Feeding Program in Liberia, kindly reach out to us for our concept note.
