Due to the tragic HIV epidemic in Uganda, there are many children orphaned and there are limited resources to help care for them. We aim to help some of these children. With your help, we ensure that each child is well cared for and all basic needs are provided. In addition, each child receives medical care and an education and is fostered within a nourishing environment.
In Uganda, an estimated 1.4 million people are living with HIV and an estimated 23,000 Ugandans die of AIDS-related illnesses annually. Too often, children are orphaned due to this crisis. With no parents to care for them, they risk falling into the cycle of extreme poverty.
We provide a matron for these orphans so that they can stay in their family home instead of being moved into overflowing, impersonal orphanages. We believe that whenever possible, the family unit should be kept intact. While these children do not have parents, they do have land that belonged to the late parents and that inheritance needs to be safeguarded. We also provide them with food, medical care, clothes, school fees, and the basic necessities of every day life to enable them to continue to
By investing in these children, we are investing in their future, so that they can build independent and sustainable livelihoods and contribute to their own future success. This helps to break the cycle of extreme poverty that, as orphans, they would likely fall into.
