This project aims to assist 7,000 vulnerable children and youth without family care or at risk of losing it, also assisting families who depend on our support, affected by COVID 19 pandemic. We would cover the basic needs in terms of food, hygiene, psychosocial and educational support at 5 provinces in Argentina: Lujan, Rosario, Mar del Plata, Cordoba and Obera.
A child cannot stay at home if being at home is not safe. Children cannot learn if there are no virtual devices or materials for homeschooling. Many parents cannot put food on the table if forced to stay home. These stress factors can have long term impacts on children's and families' physical and emotional well-being. Our appeal is to address the specific challenges and hardships faced by the children and families supported by SOS Children's Villages during Covid and post pandemia.
We will provide and ensure the health and safety of children, young people, families as well as caregivers and other care professionals (including ensuring children stay in appropriate care setting for the duration of the crisis). According to this statement we will provide food, health care, hygiene and adequate disinfection to protect themselves; sustain education to promote their learning while isolation lasts; and housing.
COVID-19 increase the danger of not having food, hygiene and education for vulnerable children and families. We want to respond to the emergency, guaranteeing children rights and preventing loss of family care, because Covid it's increasing the risks of losing family care. Children's Villages may support in the coming weeks, months and years, to overcome the devastating consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, guaranteeing tchildrens rights.
