Seva Mandir has been working with communities for over 56 years to bring people together and create better lives. One such story comes from Bagdunda village in Southern Rajasthan, where alcohol addiction had become a serious problem.
A heartbreaking incident shook the entire village—a man, under the influence of alcohol, harmed his own family. This tragedy made everyone realize just how harmful the locally brewed fake alcohol had become. It contained a toxic chemical called ammonium chloride, which could cause severe intoxication and mental health problems.
During their regular village meetings, the community decided to take action. With Seva Mandir’s support, they spread awareness about the dangers of this chemical and approached local medical stores to stop its sale. Their hard work paid off, and they successfully put an end to its availability.
Thanks to these efforts, the village is now on the path to recovery. Families that had suffered are finding hope again. This is a powerful example of how communities, when united and guided, can overcome even the toughest challenges.
Your support makes it possible for us to empower villages like Bagdunda, helping them solve problems and build a brighter future. Thank you for standing with us.
