On the Move in 2023
By Mitsyann Burrows | Executive Director
Valentine's Day Art Project
I hope this message finds you well. As we move forward into 2023, I wanted to take a moment to provide you with some exciting updates on our ongoing efforts.
We have been keeping busy with our after-school programming, which continues to thrive. Our STEM initiatives, arts programs, and literacy program are still going strong, and we are delighted to see so many young people engaging in these opportunities. Our electrical and sewing programs have been particularly popular, with many participants expressing their enthusiasm for the skills they have been able to learn and develop.
In addition to our ongoing programs, I am thrilled to announce our newest initiative: a hydroponics project in partnership with Baha Mar. This project involves growing fresh produce in a containerized pod, with the ultimate goal of creating a workforce development program. We will also be installing another pod closer to our current Community Center, which will allow us to teach more about sustainable agriculture on the island and provide highly subsidized fresh produce to families in the communities we serve. We believe that this initiative will be a game-changer for many families in our community and are excited to see it come to fruition.
As always, we are deeply grateful for your continued generosity and support of our mission. We have some exciting updates and opportunities on the horizon this year, and we look forward to sharing them with you soon. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or to schedule a visit to our Community Center. Thank you again for your belief in our efforts.
