A Story from the Frontlines

A Story from the Frontlines
In Kampala, healthcare workers are facing one of the most dangerous challenges of their careers. Two of the latest confirmed Ebola cases are health workers—individuals who showed up every day to care for others.
One frontline responder shared: “We know the risks, but we cannot turn patients away.”
Their courage is extraordinary—but courage alone is not enough. They need protection, equipment, and support.
Through your donations, we are helping ensure that frontline workers have:
- Protective gear to reduce exposure
- Training to safely manage suspected cases
- Support systems to continue their vital work
This outbreak is personal for those on the frontlines. Your support makes their work safer—and their sacrifices not in vain.

Cross-Border Risk and Preparedness The Ebola outb
By Zachery Onyango | Project Leader
Cross-Border Risk and Preparedness
The Ebola outbreak has been linked to cases in neighboring regions, highlighting the importance of cross-border coordination and preparedness.
We are actively working to reduce the risk of spread by:
- Supporting screening and surveillance in high-risk border areas
- Sharing information with regional health partners
- Strengthening preparedness in communities near points of entry
Diseases do not respect borders—but strong coordination can stop them. At Development Alert, we are working with communities, grassroots partner and Development partners to support cross border interventions to curb the spread and management of Ebola cases to save lives.
Your continued support allows us to stay ahead of the outbreak and protect vulnerable populations before the virus spreads further. Thank you for helping us build a stronger, more prepared response

Supporting Treatment and Care for Patients
By Zachery Onyango | Project Leader
Supporting Treatment and Care for Patients
Behind every Ebola statistic is a person—a family member, a caregiver, a loved one. Ensuring patients receive timely and quality care is at the heart of our response.
We are supporting treatment units by:
- Providing essential medical supplies and equipment
- Strengthening infection prevention measures within facilities
- Supporting healthcare teams delivering critical care
Patients are currently receiving treatment in designated units, and improving these facilities increases survival chances while protecting healthcare workers and other patients.
Your support helps ensure that those affected are not only treated but treated with dignity and care. Together, we are saving lives.
