Forum with farmers
During this period, people from El Bajo Lempa moved forward to share information on the best practices. As a local organization, we continue working with farmers and other people to promote agroecology as the key to responding to climate variations' current effects. Some highlights include:
- The installation of irrigation systems for two families will allow them to use water more sustainably because our team is also providing advice or training to the families on how to use the irrigation systems in a good way.
- A forum with about 70 farmers who shared experiences on how to grow food with organic matter and how to respond to the issues of weather variations. It is important that during the forum all participants learn because every experience is new knowledge.
- With our local radio station, we promoted community anniversaries and educational activities, so others in the country learn about community-based organizations.
Thanks to your generous contribution, we move forward to contribute to the ideas of the people in El Salvador.

Community training
As we have been working in this project we found out that the communities have improved their resilience. This is important because people van led their development.
During this period we have done the following:
- Supported community anniversaries. This is a way to help people to do recreational activities, so families have a chance to share with others. Also people have the opportunity to participate in cultural activities where they remember how they started their resilience and how they response to any circumstances.
- Supported farmers with technical assistance, so they can analyze other ways to produce food in a sustainable way.
We want to keep helping the communities. It is a long way, but we feel this is a great opportunity to show the world about how resilient the communities are.
With love from El Salvador,
.

As we get resources we move forward with our goals. El Bajo Lempa is working to create community resilience to respond to any phenomenon or emergency during floods or droughts. Some of the activities we have done already and with the support of other donors include:
- Training people about leadership. This allowed leaders from 10 communities to analyze how they become leaders and how to improve some of the processes they do within the community.
- Supporting farmers with technical assistance. Our team is always working with men and women who do farming. For us, it is important that the communities get support about how to grow more nutritious food.
- Strategic Planning Training. We started a strategic planning with 10 communities, so they are able to analyze the best strategies to support the communities and meet their mission and vision.
Cases of COVID-19 have reduced, but its effects are there and the economic issues in our country are generating other issues that people cannot control. It is important to keep doing activities to train people about how to do agriculture in a sustainable way, looking for other sources of income, and providing some tools for their activities.
We have a long way to walk, and we think we can do it with the support of our friends.
We want to thank the ones who have been collaborating with us. Please spread the word about our work with your colleagues and friends.
Thank you so much!
