We are immensely grateful for your kindness, generosity, and expression of solidarity to our project "SUPPORT COMMUNITY SANITARY COMPLEX IN S/EAST, NIG (54322)".
In the past three months of our last project report, we haven't received donation from donors through GlobalGiving. As at the time of this report.
However, we are faced with financial constraints coupled with high inflation which has ravaged the economy and the country.
Seventy-one percent of Nigeria's population does not have access to a sanitary toilet and disparities concentrate in rural areas. What this means is that, often people will defecate in plastic bags, roadsides, railway tracks or bushes surrounding their communities for lack of a better option.
Besides, poor sanitation is linked to transmission of diarrhoeal diseases such as cholera and dysentery, as well as typhoid, intestinal worm infections and polio. Poor exacerbates stunting and contributes to the spread of antimicrobial resistance. Many rural communities lack access to safe water and sanitation, and increasing water-related disasters such as floods and droughts.
Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian foundation aimed at, to provide more support to local level sanitation plans and strategies. Second, do more work on faecal sludge monitoring and management. Third, communicate the benefits of investing in sanitation to communities.
As the crises rages on, insecurity, uncertainty, and humanitarian needs abound. We are committed to providing humanitarian and long-term support to rural communities.
Besides, the September Little by Little Matching Campaign is right around the corner once again. GlobalGiving’s September 2022 Little by Little campaign will last 5 days, from September 12, 2022, at 00:00:00 EDT to September 16, 2022, at 23:59:59 EDT. During the September 2022 Little by Little campaign, all eligible donations up to $50 USD per unique donor per organization will be matched at 50% for the duration of the campaign and we will keep you informed about how your donation is impacting the lives of people who are suffering because of this shortage.
With kindest regards,
Samonyemaechi humanitarian.
