Summary

We have designed 5 new workshops to address fears, in particular the fear of Covid 19, which will include children aged 7 to 14 and people with disabilities. We will include at least 25 school children from Zagreb and 25 people with intellectual disabilities of the Regoc Association from Slavonski Brod. Workshops "Skillful Hands " and learning how to make handicrafts from wood and fabric will alleviate the stress and fear of Covid 19, but also the fear for their loved ones.

Challenge

There are more and more children and people, who are suffering from coronavirus fear and therefore have lack of concentration, apathy and constant fear of losing a family member. Measures for social and physical distance are also negatively influencing their emotional growth. They are conscious of their new living conditions and the fact they are spending less time with their professors, friends and family, which is subsequently leading towards increased fears and development of mental diseases.

Solution

The Libera Association will provide five emotional and psychological wellbeing workshops for 50 children and people with disabilities. We intend to connect two Croatian cities, Zagreb and Slavonski Brod. Through attending workshops and integration, we will alleviate their experience of fear, especially by sharing their awareness of togetherness. We will raise their mutual level of understanding by teaching them that only empathy and care for each individual can lead to a life without fear.

Long-Term Impact

This project will educate 25 children and 25 people with disabilities how to overcome fear and how to live happier and more fulfilled lives. Our workshops "Skillful Hands" , "Storytelling" and "I have a pet" will have a positive effect on their families as well. All the conducted training and the conclusions reached will be applicable to all interested school institutions in Croatia. We are hoping for a 25% decrease in numbers of children and people who suffer from coronavirus fears.
