It's time for another update

By Debs Brown | Project Volunteer

Since our last update, the energy in our community has been incredible! From the bustling classrooms of our partner pre-schools to the inspiring progress of our adult learners, your support is making a tangible, joyful difference in Nepal.

Here is the latest from the ground:

A New Chapter for Our Students

We are thrilled to share that our focus on inclusion is yielding beautiful results. The brand-new sensory room on the ground floor of our partner school has become a sanctuary for children with special needs who find traditional classrooms overwhelming. Upstairs, the energy is just as high—we are now supporting several students all the way through Class 10! Watching them prepare for their School Leaving Certificates (SLC) with such determination is a reminder that no dream is too big when the right support is in place.

English, Tea, and Laughter

Our adult education initiatives have taken a fun and social turn! Over the last few months, we’ve been running free English conversational lessons for women in the local community. These aren’t your typical quiet classrooms; they are filled with role-play, interactive games, and plenty of laughter over cups of tea. It’s been beautiful to watch their confidence grow as they practice new phrases and share stories. These skills are more than just words—they are tools for independence and connection.

Getting Our Hands Dirty

Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, and sometimes that means getting out into the fields! Our team recently joined local families for a traditional rice planting day. We successfully planted 14 rice fields, working side-by-side with the community. This wasn't just about the harvest; it was a powerful exercise in communal work and solidarity. The funds raised through this initiative are going directly toward the rent and moving costs for our Youth Rehabilitation Home, ensuring those children have a safe, stable place to live.

Nutrition & Stability

Because you can’t learn on an empty stomach, we are proud to continue providing two full plates of Daal Bhat every day for the children in our care. Knowing that their next meal is guaranteed allows these kids to focus on what really matters: being children, playing, and learning.

What your support achieved this quarter:

  • Rent Secured: We’ve raised enough to cover a full year’s rent for the community pre-school!

  • Classroom Supplies: New desks and stationery have reached the rural schools where they were needed most.

  • Community Bonds: Strengthened our partnership with local families through shared labor and health seminars.

Thank you for being part of this "family of families." Your generosity isn't just a donation; it’s an investment in the smiles, the laughter, and the bright futures of our friends in Nepal.

With gratitude and excitement,
