We firmly believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. That’s why we’re committed to providing educational opportunities and resources to children in the rural areas where we work. Our aim is to decrease drop-out rates and ensure quality education for enrolled children. In Nepal, due to extreme isolation and rural communities’ lack of access to cities, the literacy rate is around 50%. This is primarily due to poverty, lack of resources, and poorly trained teachers or lack of access to teachers in rural and remote areas. The average school day is still only around 4 hours per child, and classes are often large. This project is critical, but it will take time to raise enough funds to help every child.
However, we’ve noticed a slowdown in donations recently. Your contributions are vital to the success of our project and the support we can provide to these children.
We’d like to draw your attention to a special day - Giving Tuesday, which falls on November 28th. It’s the most substantial day of the year for donations. Last year, thanks to your tremendous support, we raised enough funds on this day to sustain our work until June this year. Without this fundraising day, we simply would not have survived until now. Excitingly, GlobalGiving will match every new donation made on Giving Tuesday, amplifying the impact of your contribution on our cause and enabling us to continue our work for another year.
