Safe Drinking Water support
Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is trying to provide safe drinking water to the climate vulnerable underprivileged Sundarbans coastal community since 2015. We have re-excavated 3 ponds and established Solar Pond Sand and filter system and supported 4594 villagers. But due to the salinity of that water, BEDS is trying to raise the required fund to support those people with desalinated water (3 desalination system). It is widely known that desalination is a harmful system for the environment if the ground water is desalinated. But we would like to desalinate pond water (harvested rain water) and the waste water will directly go that pond again. So, it will not harm the environment. Target grant of this project is 30,560$. So far, 777$ is raised from 16 admirable donations. We are extremely grateful to the donors for being with us. And we expect that they will continuously help us for what we are aiming at. We are communicating with our beneficiaries in a regular basis. We are at their side to provide them advices whenever they are in need. We have already disseminated this news with the target community that we have already received fourteen donations to support the project and the communities feel really happy. But their problems remained the same as we couldn’t start our project activities due to lack of budget. It is our target to raise the full fund of the project by 2019. We know it is you; the kind hearted donors, who can make it possible to help the coastal people to provide them safe drinking water. So, please be kind to the safe drinking water deprived communities and be with them.
