BEDS has been providing door to door safe drinking water with minimum charge in Banishanta and Laudove union. As a result, more than 20 villages of these unions are getting safe drinking water. Local people are now free from the anxiety of safe drinking water crisis.
There is no alternative of Water for human life. In Sundarbans region of Bangladesh, saline water is everywhere with limited fresh water sources. The coastal people have to depend on rainwater. They store water in plastic tank and traditional mud made pots in the monsoon which is not sufficient for them to drink for the whole year. In the summer, there is hardly any rain. Besides, they use water in the agricultural production. As a result, rivers, canals and ponds become dry. Extreme water crisis appears then. Through the existing facilities of BEDS (Solar Pond Sand and filter, Reverse Osmosis and 7 water wells) more than 9000 coastal villagers are getting safe drinking water. Now we are selecting sites for installing 8 more water wells in different coastal villages.
We would like to thank all our donors for their amazing and continuous support for the coastal deprived people. We are requesting all our donors to start monthly recurring donation by clicking the following link;
