In Sundarbans region of Bangladesh, saline water is everywhere with limited fresh water sources. The coastal people have to depend on rainwater. They store water in plastic tank and traditional mud made pots in the monsoon which is not sufficient for them to drink for the whole year. In the summer, there is hardly any rain. As a result, rivers, canals and ponds become dry. Extreme water crisis appears then.
To serve the pure and safe drinking water to the coastal people Bangladesh Environment and development Society (BEDS) introduce a water treatment plant which purifies the water by reverse osmosis and for doing that we use the solar energy. More than 1200 coastal families of these unions are getting safe drinking water. This water not only serves their drinking purpose but also many people take this water supply as a social business. Local people are now free from the anxiety of safe drinking water crisis.
We would like to thank all our donors for their amazing and continuous support for the coastal deprived people. We are requesting all our donors to start monthly recurring donation by clicking the following link;
